That's the coach. He sets the tone and it's not going to change with him at the helm. Also they don't get pushed around. They just do the same thing all the time without ever adjusting and that is absolutely the coaches fault.

I agree with basically everything you said but we are too weak at the back to be a real contender. I will be sold on Woll when I see a full season. Until then I’d much rather have a proven top goalie, something we haven’t had here in decades.

Oh I agree, and fixing the Blueline is going to be hard considering the cap situation we are in. Many like to blame Dubas, but I guarantee he wouldn't have spent 13+ million on guys that don't fit the team at all. Treliving has been an utter disaster and we can thank Shanahan for that. It's pretty clear to me that Shanahan had way too much say in what moves Dubas was allowed to make. Now we have an amazing core and a GM and President that don't have any idea how to build a team.

I have never been a Dubas fan. However, last season he put together what I thought was by far his best team and we only were eliminated by a red hot goalie and Tkachuk. Keefe should be out of a job and so should Shanny but it’s clear MLSE has no idea what they’re doing yet again. If we cleaned house after Dubas left and started over that’d be the real answer.

Tkachuk didn't score in the leafs series. He didn't hurt us. Bob did and when his luck ran out, the Panthers allowed a tonne against Vegas. I am not looking for excuses though because I think Keefe is the biggest reason we lost vs Florida, followed by Bob and the refs. The cheap shots they got away with in that series was ridiculous. The leafs had 1 power play. Gudas ran guys well after the whistle all the time. Staal tried to take Marner's head off with an elbow and the series clinching goal was blatant interference. But the leafs system was exposed by Florida as well, they got almost all their offence off quick strike transition and if the leafs would have shifted into a complete lockdown system they would have won games 2-0, or 2-1 because Florida gives up chances a lot under Maurice but if you force it, they turn it back quick and score and that's what happened. The coach didn't adjust at all and we lost.

Dubas I think would have found some gems to supplement our forward core and also would have done much better on the blueline. Now Treliving has a bunch of guys on 1 year deals that look terrible and may be hard to give away.
