Of "saving" them, whatever OP meant by that, who knows. But unlike Montembeault, he's proven he can be a solid netminder, and his .927 so far shows that again this year. He could at least allow the Oilers to refine their game with more confidence, not panicking with every shot on their net, overthinking and over-defending (in their own wacky way?), etc etc etc.

That said, the Oilers should not retain 25% of Campbell's contract.

You think changing that second for a first would be asking Edmonton too much?

Allen would probably bring more stability to oiler and help the return to the track. He's not the Messiah but could offer decent performance. The problem is that oiler is near the cap space celling which if there an trade an bad contract will need to be move out. Foegle or Campbell is the only two options I think an only Campbell is the solution but would cost higher to move.

I know that Montreal have been interested into Bourgault and Holloway and could also add one or two good pick.

Would doing Allen to oiler for both prospect and first round and Campbell full salary to much ? Edmonton would probably don't want to move both prospect at some time but Campbell salary is an hard one to shallow.
