Timmins is a low value get until he plays. He has had 18 good NHL games and other than that he’s a 7th D man who’s done nothing to justify 1.1M. The only piece that’s interesting is the Leafs 1st which should be a low draft pick in the round so plenty of other teams could outbid that.

What are the Leafs paying to offload Klingberg and for 50% retention? Tanev for a 1st, fine. Zadorov for a cap dump, Timmins and lottery tickets picks should t really interest anyone. Pretty hard to see Calgary packaging both those guys in one deal instead of maximizing value

    Tanev @ 50% for a 1st OR Niemala
    Zadorov @ 50% for Klingberg and a 1st

Calgary isn't going to throw a life raft to Treliving for signing bad deals in the off season, he's strapped the Flames with enough of those already, Toronto will have to pay to dump Klingberg at this point if they want him gone that bad.

I think that is reasonable, not sure if I'd do it but possibly.

TOR is already strapped on good prospects

That's fair for sure. I think I only key in on Niemela from a previous conversation I had where a Leafs fan was saying that he is essentially Linljegren in a couple years, Leafs need a Liljegren now and the Flames need one in a year or two, I think it's a great fit but I have my biases for sure.

I have my biases too of course, I would have a hard time seeing Niemela go but I think it still isn't out of possibility
