He doesn't? Holmberg has no value and a fourth is fine for Peeke.

Need some glasses? Maybe need to learn to read? They put "2027 2nd" in the trade description. Meaning he's sending a pick that can't be selected in a cap friendly AGM.

I did miss that, apologies. But how much value does a second four years from now have, really? I still think Calgary's getting a better return here. They get an actual prospect, a real defenseman in Timmins Toronto shouldn't be trading, and another offensive defenseman at 2 mill to fill in for the year, plus Toronto gets retention.

All good. A second 4 years from now, who knows for value but I would take a second in 4 years over a fourth next year. Who knows where a team is going to be, that second round pick could be 33 overall or 64 overall but in that draft year it still holds a value of a second. If I was a team looking to acquire picks, I would want them spread out over the years ago that I'm either able to bring in players slowly over time instead of having a while bunch at once or be able to use that for a trade in the future when my team is hopefully competitive. Also is Abruzzese an actual prospect? For a team like Toronto that needs some depth, why isn't he playing with them? He's put up good numbers in the AHL but there must be a reason he doesn't get a chance with the Leafs. Timmins I actually believe can be a good player but 66 games over 5 seasons, he doesn't have value. Whatever his reason, he can't stay healthy. I don't think many teams are going to rush to acquire a guy that is going to sit on LTIR for most of the year. Then there is Klingberg, replacement player sure but he becomes a $6M defenseman with the retention on Zadorov. That's my point of view on that trade anyways.
