As a leafs fan I think it's a fair value. Maata has me a little worried with his health but maybe worth the risk. Not a big deal but we already retaining on Kessel so we can only retain on one more player so it would just have to be 2 million on one of them.

Yea wasn't sure on the whole "how many players a team could retain salary on". But yea I think it's fair value as well. Pens need a center, Leafs need a top 4 dman. Bozak fits the pens 3C role and has chemistry with Kessel. Maatta fits the leafs top 4 dman role plus Maatta is young (22 or 23) and has a very affordable cap hit and is under contract for the next like 4-5 years..... only thing that would scare the pens in my opinion would be that both Bozak and JVR only have 1 year remaining on their contracts so they are pretty much full year rentals (think that's where the retained salary comes into play)... only thing that would scare the leafs would be maattas healthy (however I believe he is past that)
