Wednesday vs Detroit

Created by: Devsfan25
Team: 2023-24 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 19, 2023
Published: Nov. 19, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- Considering Meier went into Thursday’s game against the Pens as a game time decision and Lindy described the injury as “short-term” I can’t imagine Meier missing the game Wednesday in Detroit after a few days off

- Keep Holtz in the top 6 next to Mercer and Bratt and move Palat to the 3rd line to form a true forechecking line

- Nosek looked banged up after the hit from Trouba so I don’t suspect he’ll be ready to play Wednesday which is why I plugged in Willman

I liked the Palat, Mercer, Holtz combo…seemed to spark both Mercer and Holtz. But maybe it’s just those latter two together.

Miller has looked pretty good so far. I would be all for going to 6D with him in and Smith out.

I’ve liked the Palat- Mercer- Holtz line, but I would like to see them with Bratt. I think Bratt’s transition game would be perfect to set up Holtz in good shooting positions. I also prefer Palat’s playing style with Haula and Lazar as a forechecking and defensive line

I’m with you. Nice to have raw forechecking line. I wonder if Nolan Foote rolls right into lineup when back.

Personally, I don’t think he’s gonna have a spot. When fully healthy, my lines would be

Toffoli- Hughes- Meier
Holtz- Hischier- Bratt
Palat- Haula- Mercer
Lazar- McLeod- Bastian/Nosek

Foote’s only opportunity would be if there was an injury to a 4th line winger

The spot for him, if they wanted him in lineup, would probably be that Nosek/Bastian spot.

Haula- Hughes- Meier
Toffoli - Hischier- Bratt
Palat - Mercer - Holtz
Foote - McLeod - Lazar

(Extra: Bastian, Nosek, Tierney, Willman, etc)
