No chance leafs sign that deal - too rich & too little term. Need to hit the brakes on Willy - I’m his biggest fan but no chance he’s worth $12.5M 🤯🤦🏻. Somewhere between $9-11 for 8 years. And what’s the rush - have all season to negotiate; never fear it’ll get done

Nonsense, who cares what the marketing dept thinks 🤦🏻? Leafs are the most popular team in the league by a margin (Habs close but not that close), they print money with or without Nylander (not like Matthews or Marner aren’t superstars). Willy’s number has to make sense cap wise; career wise, his play has warranted around $9M but he has been outstanding this year albeit in only 17 games. Leafs will let this play out and we’ll see where it ends up, not too concerned
