The Rangers should NOT trade an underperforming 22yo, Zac Jones who's looked great, Goodrow, and a 2nd for *checks notes* an underperforming 25yo

Make the second a first and I think it gets it done. What people don't understand is Laine brings some unique elements like his size and ability to throw the body. Also Goodrow reduces the return value and the first helps it.

That 2nd definitely needs to be a 1st.

No Laine is offensive player that isn't providing offensive, while Goodrow is a defensive player that plays defensively and draws penalties. Obviously when Laine is producing he is a better player. But a offensive player without offensive is like a tiger without teeth.

If they called us and asked for Goodrow for Laine and the cap would work I’d personally drive Goodrow to the airport myself

He has been on a bad team and it is much harder to produce on a bad team and I think he takes a lot of crap that really isn't deserved. He has 200 goals since coming into the league during that same time period Zibanejad has 206, Kreider has 214 and both of them have played 30 more games in that period. TO BE CLEAR I'M NOT SAYING LAINE IS BETTER THAN EITHER OF THEM BECAUSE HE IISN'T! What I am saying is he really does deserve more credit than he gets here. He went from being bullied in Winnipeg to playing for Tortorella ad his mind games. So the past few seasons have been rough for him, but he is only 25 so there is still time to get over that and return to the player he was at the start of his career.
