Agreed. I think as good as sorokin is, it would show gross incompetence on adams part. To me, it would say that adams chose to sit on his hands with below average goaltending, and when it didn't work, rather than try to acquire a more reasonable goaltender, he chose to insanely overpay for a top 3 goalie. For Christ's sake, it doesn't have to be either below average or crazy expensive all star good. The idea that Buffalo should move about a bunch of high end prospects, because they have them is ridiculous.

yea goalies in general are voodoo, but not the elite of the elite like Sorokin, Shesterkin, Saros, etc etc.

Guy has been at worst a top 3 goalie in the league for the past few years now. He is quite literally the only reason the Islanders aren't a bottom 5 team.

In other words, Sorokin up until this point in his career, has been far better than Quick and Bobrovsky were at the same point in their respective careers.

Yea but with his sample of work so far, you can probably bet that it won't happen for at least another 5-6 years. Goalies are random, but the fact that Sorokin has been franchise altering ever since he entered the league, you can bet on him still being elite for at least the next 5-6 years. If you're a GM that needs to make a move to really get your team in contention, this is the type of move you have to make. You trade picks and prospects for the proven player every single time.
