Short term plan. See what AB can do. My fear is Kyle Davidson hasn't learned from his Athanasiou experiment. That was too rich and we have him for another year, BUT that's a different discussion because we have the cap space.

Longer term. Still have to sell at the TDL which means all pending UFAs except maybe Foligno...depending on what he wants. He's been a valuable veteran. Acquire picks and move up in the draft. Maybe even an RFA depending on the trade value KD can get.

Attain bad contracts. Nothing crazy but if Oilers wanan move on from Ceci Hawks could get something from that as an example. Maybe even move Murphy aswell in that deal? Could probably get something juicy for it. Otherwise I think you sign 1 or 2 decent FA in 2024 and then you just try to develop the young guns the right way. I like what Kevin and Connor has been doing so far.

At this point it is not “Who they should target in a trade”. It is what teams need help & how much are they willing to pay for that help.
As far as the plan; we are still relatively early on in the rebuild. The path is to continue to stockpile picks & prospects. They will not all materialize as NHL players so we need quantity & quality in the prospects pool. It will take time to get where we want to go, but it will be worth it IMO.
