I doubt CHI would have any interest in Abruzzese or Timmins. But it's possible they would accept a proposal like this, even if those players are just heading down to the AHL or are just stop gap players.

Abruzzese and Timmins are roster filler, maybe Timmins sticks around because Hawks have no RD. I'd take this just for the first though.

Yeah, maybe. Timmins and Abruzzese are unnecessary, though. We have plenty of guys coming up that need roster spots, and we have a salary floor to meet. There is no way to justify giving those two Foligno/Perry type $4M contracts just to "fill cap space." With Foligno and Perry, the idea was that even if they don't perform that well on the ice, they still bring a lot of value to the locker room. Of course, we know how Perry turned out, now, though, but at the time, that was the idea. I'd like to think Murphy could fetch more, especially with retention, but I think a 1st is probably the minimum CHI should even consider taking for him. Anything less wouldn't be as valuable as him being a leader/mentor to young players over the remainder of his contract.
