Sabres probably accept that. Kampf would be a great 4th C for us.

Might be a little more than we are willing to pay though

Stillman is just organizational depth for us and is behind Bryson, Johnson, Clague, Novikov for LHD depth chart so he is definitely expendable. Paying a 3rd for a very good defensive PK forward with 50% or better faceoff numbers is 100% worth it

1- you’re overrating how good he is for the sake of the argument
2- i didn’t say he wasn’t “worth it”
What i did say is that it might be “a little more than we are willing to pay”
Words matter, & i chose mine carefully for a reason

Not really, I watch the Leafs a lot and Kampf is a valuable player. Not sure why a depth AHL defender and a 3rd would be "a little more than we are willing to pay." If Adams was offered that trade and thought it too high a price then he has no business being our GM imo.

Just bc YOU like a player, it doesn’t mean Adams does as well
It’s completely possible Adams is happy with Krebs continuing to develop at 4C
Also, i used the word MIGHT for a reason

Really no point in stating the obvious, of course I'm not KA but just sharing my opinion. Why "might" that price be "more than we are willing to pay" as you put it? You haven't shared why you think that. We traded a 2nd and 5th for a forward with a career high of 12 goals and 32 points...

Just bc we overpaid for Greenway, that doesn’t mean his trade value will correlate to every other player we might trade for

Sabres *might* not wanna pay that price for Kampf, Simple bc we are happy continuing to develop Krebs in our “defensive center” role, they’d making acquiring Kampf unnecessary

And i felt the need to “state the obvious” bc it seems like we are talking about 2 different things
1- what YOU would do
VS
2- what Adams will do

I’m interested in what’s gonna happen in reality
I personally think bringing in a good defensive center makes sense (i think we agree there)- i just don’t know that Adams feels the same way

Hopefully all of the goals we allow against and our atrocious faceoff numbers make Adams aware (if he isn't already) that we are in desperate need of someone like a Kampf or Sturm to help us in that department. Hopefully he also realizes that we don't need to keep all of our later round picks in every draft and that moving one or two of them for a player like that would be wise... Time will tell I suppose

Yeah, a smart tweak or 2 could certainly help
Love how our top9 looks right now if we can stay healthy
Should start seeing a bunch more scoring
Quinn looking good already

Agreed the top 9 is beastly and Quinn is posed for a big season. I think he puts up 20-25 goals despite missing the first 32 games.

That might be pushing it
But this team is gonna be real scary up front with all the talent we have- AND all the talent we still have coming

Team needs going forward imo:
1- figure out long term solution in goal
2- top4 RD…. Joki? Clifton?
3- defensive 4C that wins faceoffs

We get that done & just let the young talent we have continue to develop & i think we’ll be in good shape for quite a while
