I think the value is there for the caps for sure. As much as it would suck to lose those guys, that’s a significant return coming back.

Interest has to be near nil for the Caps. Arguably our best defensive forward on a cheap deal and also arguably our best goalie for another third-line winger on a team full of them and a 2nd round pick? Nah.

I think a 1st have to be involved, not a 2nd.

Dowd could turn out as the Goodrow or Coleman trades by Brisebois

The caps are one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL. They could acquire another young former 1st round pick just like sandin. Lindgren has high trade value at the moment. Foegele could easily be flipped at the deadline

If the caps could get a 1st I'd be pretty shocked but would gladly accept

Given both players have an extra year I think the caps would want a 1st at least to move them together
