Neither team is in cap hell, so the $1.6 million cap hit is meaningless. Robinson can play in the NHL and if he doesn't, then Buffalo gives up nothing. How can you argue they didn't win this trade? ... Okay, you could argue it is a mostly meaningless trade, so it is a fair deal. I don't get the people voting fro Columbus here.

because I fail to see how Robinson improves the Sabres or would even be a reliable stop-gap for the injury issues you pointed out. He's useless offensively and a liability defensively.
