Jake Allen is a HORRIBLE idea for goalie help for us

After a few decent games to start the season,
he’s back under a .900 save% for the season

In his last 5 games, he’s 0-4-1 with a save% of only .861
He’s reverted to the same crappy play he had last season,
when his save% was .891

He just isn’t good anymore
And hasn’t been so in 4 years now

Sorry to be so harsh,
but he really is just a horrible idea

As a habs fan I would be delighted to accept this trade... but your analyses is pretty accurate. Allen seems like a good locker room guy and good team influence but in terms of actual play its slipped a lot ...

Its pretty clear ypu have limited knowledge on what makes a good goalie if ypur just using sv% with no context. I am also assuming ypu probably are still stuck in a decade long assumption of what league average is.

Jake allen is playing in front of a dcore that currently has 1 player whos even played 150 nhl games. They are conceeding a lot of chances. Thats why even with a .898 he still has saved more shots than a league average goalie this year.

Allen today would instantly become the sabres best goalie and wpuld be the mention levi actually needs
