Take that chance and try like hell to sign him if he re-signs a 2 year deal to match with Ekholm. 5M x 2 it's worth it. Gonna be hard to negotiate with CGY gonna have to overpay. Holloway is a Calgary boy, that probably excite them. You don't know what you got in Broberg it's a risk both ways.

Love the Maroon trade and Perry signing. Tanev is not worth that much. A first with 50% RS is decent. Throw in 1 prospect. Not sure if it should be as good as those two.

Some might think that's a huge over pay for Tanev, but an over pay is exactly what it'll take for the Oilers to land any Flames Player, let alone Tanev 50% retained...

Broberg and Holloway haven't lived up to expectations at all and the Oilers are on a tear and should move up the standings a bunch more yet, especially if they were to acquire Tanev, who is exactly the player they need, so that 1st wouldn't be that great if it's late as well

My counter proposal would be 1st + Holloway + Ceci FOR Tanev 25% Retained


C'mon Man... Broberg and Holloway aren't considered or worth 1st's anymore. They're both in their final year of Waivers Exemption and their values have plummeted...

I felt because Holloway was a Calgary native that they might like the sounds of that. He would be an everyday player for the Flames and have a better opportunity to learn and grow there as they are rebuilding. Could say the same about Broberg. Near the trade deadline I feel CGY might be willing to swallow 50%.
