Why would the leafs do this for an inconsistent goalie who isn't bad but not worth that much and a way overpaid defense who is still overpaid at 2.550 mil, maybe Walker instead but that still seems like a stretch. Not to mention one of the leafs best prospects is in this. No deal no way.

I think it's decent value for Hart. The only issue I have is the retention on Risto. They aren't going to retain multiple years, especially at that value. They want to be able to be creative with their retention spots now and in the future so having 2 retention slots filled for at least 3 years isn't going to work.

ANyopne who says Harty is uneven hasn;t seen him play, hes young and 4 yrs of retention is a big pill to swallow. Benoit and Samsonov add nothing to the deal really for PHI.

However, 2 1sts (even spread over three years), a 3rd and Cowan is a big package to surrender and hard to say no to, especially as PHI has Errson playing so well and two top goalie prospects

Leafs obviously say no zero chance they move Cowan and more then 1 1st this year zero literally zero try again

Philly might say yes to that.
