So Raanta will be loaned to another team's AHL club, but not contractually traded to Montreal? That might be, but I doubt that Montreal agrees to take him. The whole reason we want to trade Allen is because we have too many goalies. Taking one on loan would defeat the purpose.

The main reason why they haved 3 goalies is because Primeau should pass on the waivers for going to the AHL, but Kent Hughes said himself that somes teams have showed somes interest on him.

Nicely outside the box. Is it possible Carolina trades Raanta after he clears waivers to save the money though? Or do you think they'd still want him as a 3rd goalie over Perets?

The goalies in the AHL haven,t performed all that well, although Dobes is a young prospect that needs reps to develop and has already started playing a bit better of late ... but that team could use some stability and some veteran help.
