You don’t move on from a guy after 30 games of a 6 year deal.

Ok I’ll amend that to one season. Regardless he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. For one we have to pay to dump him coming off a bad season with 5 years left. Also, defenseman take much longer to adapt to a new team.

Understandably with Dumo leaving Dubas wanted to lock in some assurance on the left side but with it being out deepest position I think we should explore the option of moving him, if a team is willing to give him the adaptation time/different play style without it costing us assets so that we can add to the forwards. I agree that it's relatively unlikely though for all the reasons you've highlighted
