lol absolutely not

Fabbro gets either a first or a solid prospect back

Novak is actually worth a lot if we deal him at the TDL. He could fit on anyways roster cap-wise and is playing really well again this season.

Eh... i dont think fabbro could get a 1st. Novak probably can in a bidding war given the cap restrictions of several teams and Novaks caphit.

Either way, it is 2 uninteresting prospects with McWard possibly having to get sent to the ECHL to get playing time. Nashville already has 1 RHD prospect playing in Atlanta so he isnt just pressboxed in Milwaukee. So the meat of the return is a pair of 2nds - 2025 and 2026 which no doubt Nashville can do better than that.

In no world is McWard going to the ECHL. He held on to almost making the Canucks roster out of camp being the last guy sent down. He's played majority of the Abbotsford Canucks games sporting the second highest +/- and decent play with Hirose, Schmeimann, etc. He should have been drafted. He doesn't have a super high ceiling but he'll likely end up being a poised, solid bottom pair guy.

Fabbro's value is probably a 2nd so another 2nd + McWard is pretty close on Novak. Though he could get multiple bidders like you said.
If you're gripe is that the pick years are too late, that's fair but McWard is likely on an NHL roster within two years.

Sending him to the echl wouldnt be based on ability but more space and playing time. We have 9 2 way contract guys assigned to our minor league affiliates plus whatever ahl contract guys are with Milwaukee. Young guy needs to play and not be in the pressbox. Maybe he manages to push one of the other prospects down instead.

Canucks are not getting rid of their prospect players with this trade.
