I doubt Florida would offer Knight, and I doubt Toronto would offer Marner.

This isn’t as crazy as it sounds. It’s pretty much cap neutral and if Reinhart, Tkachuk or Marner could move to the left side I think Marner would be a much bigger upgrade to Florida’s top 6 than the downgrade on defense and goaltending depth, but it seems too risky to Toronto with Montour being a rental (likely due a big raise if they want to keep him) and not knowing if Knight is ready to handle being #1 while Woll is out.

I don’t think teams mind helping division rivals, as long as it gives both of them a leg up on the other 30 teams.
