No need for Tanev in Winnipeg and the rest is far too much for the Jets you give up for a rental.

I think of it this way. Tanev is a defensive upgrade on Schmidt who you have the chance to re sign and balance out the pairings with handiness. Lindholm would give the jets by far the best top 6 in the league running 27-55-13 81-28-91 while having Iafallo-Vladdy-Baron as your 4th line would be an embarrassment of riches. Lucius is probably behind Lambert in terms of prospects so you’re not giving up you #1 center prospect, you still have McGroarty, Barlow, Chibrakov in the pipeline. You haven’t given up any of your D prospects. The 1st round pick would be closer to 30 ideally 32 and you have montreals pick still which is most likely 33-40 anyway. I know from my other posts your not on the “assets for rentals train” but this is an opportunity to push with the deepest forward group we’ve had since 18’ and improve the D-core all while Helle is playing at the Vezina level. Get on board the Lindholm to Winnipeg train… lol

Winnipeg has no space to afford Tanev and Lindholm.
There is no point for Winnipeg to get these players.
They're a good team without them TBH.

I appreciate the thought you put into that. I guess I just have a hard time seeing these Jets doing anything now after last year, but who knows.

It's Christmas. I withdraw my objection!

By trading Schmidt and getting retention on 1 of them
Trying to challenge for a cup with an extremely deep roster and vezina calibre goalie is all the point you need to do it.
They are a good team without them, a better team with them

The Hanifin trade is easily beaten by other teams with better assets.

Same with the Lindholm trade Kupari has done very little and Schmidt is basically a glorified cap dump to make the cap work.

No interest in Tanev, so you can keep him… but Lindholm, absolutely if the price is right…1st + Lucius + Schmidt +
If we can work out an extension in advance, then we replace Lucius with Barlow, and add a bit
