What are you talking about? No one is talking about Chychrun to VAN in this thread. We are talking about Brannstrom.

Addison was traded from Minnesota to San Jose for a 2026 5th Round Pick and prospect Adam Raska less than 2 months ago. It was very clear I was referring to that trade, and not the Jason Zucker deal in 2020, as I specifically mentioned Minnesota and San Jose, multiple times.

      They are very comparable.

Again, this is your hypothetical trade for 2024-25, next season. Brannstrom will be 25 next season.

I think it's clear based on the state of your replies, that you have no idea what is going on, know nothing about what you're talking about, and any opinion you might have is very ill-informed.

This maybe news to you, but you can compare players to other players. Brannstrom's closest comparables in terms of age, AAV, games played, ATOI, and production are Addison and Seigenthaller. He's worth a mid-round pick at most based on the value that those players had at the time of their trades.

      1. You knew exactly what I was talking about when I brought up Chychrun.

You got butthurt that we wouldn't sell you Chychrun for scraps and now your butthurt feelings have carried over into this thread.

      Have a look again.

      2. Your comparables have now gone out the window with Brannstrom's stellar performance against Buffalo just now.

Played forward, helped score a goal, was +2 and was one of the 3 stars of the game.

      One for the ages.

In addition to that, I took my offer to Vancouver off the table a long time ago in a subsequent AGM.

Nobody cares about your temper-tantrum anymore.

      3. You said a while ago that "he's 25".

That's present tense as in, "he is 25", which is incorrect.

      He's 24.

If you said something like, "he will be 25 when this trade is made", you would be more believable.

You have no idea what is going on, know nothing about what you're talking about and any opinion you might have is very ill-informed.

      Give it a rest.

      It's ok.

Buddy, I don't want Chychrun or Brannstrom. I don't care what you or OP value the players at, I use comparable players to gauge current trade market value. I post that value. I am pretty good at this, I've done it with four trades already. I don't believe Chychrun will or should go to VAN, he's still worth a 1st + 2nd. I don't care if Brannstrom goes to VAN, he could go to Toronto and I'd still say he's worth a 3rd at most. If Vancouver was to suddenly crash and burn and they decided to trade Hronek, he'd still be worth a 1st + 2nd.

Yes, Brannstrom is technically 24 right now. If you look at the top of your post, you'll see it says 2024-25, with Brannstrom traded. He is 25 in 2024-25.

GMs don't determine trade value based on one game, no one cares if a player has one good game, they want to see dozens consecutively. If he has a breakout season than that changes his value, but based on his history, he projects to remain depth defense and is worth the same as Addison.
