More importantly, why would Staal ever waive his no movement clause for this type of deal. It makes no sense for him to do so.

The value isn't horrendous for only 2 seasons of Duchene. A 1st rounder is worth one year alone. However, none of the current assets going back to Colorado fit any role they currently need. It's just wishful thinking to want this deal to go through.
