Kind of a one and done plan. Most of the cap raise is gone on Toews extension, and the plan is that Landy will be back next year. They'd probably have to move out RyJo and Girard, just to be able to ice a team the next year, even before factoring in a raise for Mittelstadt.

That Daccord trade would never happen either.

It'd be tight, but I got it to work

Avs won't be trading Kovalenko before they see what they've got unless they're blown away by something so the Daccord trade wouldn't happen. Secondly, this may work for this year but it's one and done. The Avs have Toews' raise leaving maybe 1 mil on a cap rise. Landy back means you've still got 6 to find next year, pay a raise to Mittelstadt, a back up G, one of the third D pair, two bottom 6 forwards and three scratches.

We've been over this Shibbal... C.M is not a fit for the Avs and you know damn well nobody is giving a good player and picks for Cllifton lol. No value for the Avs in this trade.

They're clearly not giving up good players and picks for Clifton. That's the value of a 2c

Wasn't talking about the Daccord trade, don't care about that. If they move Girard and RyJo they'll be able to field a contending team with the Mitts trade is what I was saying

Yes, but C.M is not a 2c, at least on the Avs. We've been over this. There are a few teams that will give you/us a kings ransom for C.M. The Avs won't be one of them.

I don't remember talking to you at all, if so it was once, but I mean your opinion is wrong, Mitts is a 2C (I hate Mittelstadt and admit it) and a physical 2nd pair D with a 2 year contract for an rfa 2C is not a "kings ransom". Eichels trade was a kings ransom. Manson is not Makar

If CM is not a 2C, why? He's 5th in the league in 5v5 points since Jan 1 2023:

MacK 80
McDavid 59
Pasta 58
Point 58
Mitts 57

C.M trades are slowly becoming the new Monahan, my mistake if not as many times we've gone over this as a I thought. C.M is a 2C on a bad team (pains me to say this), he would be better suited as a 3c, but the Avs have 2 of those atm and he does not play a defensive responsible game with any consistancy. He is an oportunisticaly engaged player who does not play a style that Bednar would reward with ice time.
Not saying the Avs trade was a kings ransom, just that there is probably a team dumb enough to pay it.

Benefit of being a good player on a bad team. with less minutes and favorable usage, his points will go down. See above quote, same applies.

How is it a benefit if he's carrying a rookie and a 4th liner?

He gets a lot of shifts with better wings. Its not a full on blender but saying he only plays with greenway and Benson isn't true.

How exactly is he getting any more favorable usage than he would on the avalanche? Hes been a prolific 5v5 producer this season and last. There are some very easy holes you can poke in his game that I don’t personally love. Hes not physical at all and not good defensively. We also are never gonna have a perfect 2C the way we are built and I think mittelstadt is a very valid option for us long term

Aside from the month that Tage Thompson was out on injury he's been with Benson +1

So they've now moved Manson, Girard, RyJo to add Mitts and Clifton.....still in the playoffs maybe.....genuine contenders though? In my opinion not. That's overall a downgrade of the team, not even allowing for anyone else it prohibits the Avs from signing.

Plus the return on Girard. RyJo is a negative, especially when adding a positive in Mitts, and Clifton is a slight negative from Manson

RyJo isn't a negative. Clifton is more than a slight negative from Manson. The return for Girard will have to be futures so that's not helping a team in its window.

If you've been watching both teams this season, you would know that is another false statement. Healthy Manson has been excellent for the Avs. Just cant play 3on3 lol.

Middlestadt as an Avs 2C is a sick chel24 idea and nothing more. Avs are going to have to raise another ELC center long term probably.

Love middlestadt’s game, would be a fun av, but no way it works out money wise long term.
