Not someone we want to resign, not worth the bigger cap

I mean a lot of upgrades have bigger caps. Cant rely on the current roster to win a cup

Wennberg's player profile is a well rounded middle six center. He's not much of a goalscorer and prefers to act as a playmaker while chipping in on both the power play and penalty kill. Wennberg is currently the Kraken's second line center, though he might be best suited as a third line center on a serious contender. I think second and fifth round picks for Wennberg half retained is pretty fair value for a deadline deal, but whether Seattle will be willing to sell him given their recent good run of form is an open question at this time.

I think this is well said. Would add a couple of points: He has a NTC and would need to waive; and I think he would be a really good option for the Rangers as their 3rd C.

We need to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. We are tight cap & short 2-3Fs in 25, need possible resigns @ 1-2m & maybe 1@ 3-4m. Wenn is not really an upgrade and probably gets more than the 2m he's worth. Even if we have to add a 1st & b prospects for a keeper, although they're hard to find, not many sellers yet

They don’t “need” to re-sign anyone. If they re-sign and chytil is good to go, then they need to dump someone

Spend draft picks for rentals and keep all your prospects and roster players. Drury can find good cheap players in the free agency again

Makes total sense, we are set next year, cap & team wise. But I'm totally writing Chytil out for good. Even if & when, it will be walking on glass, which also means he's unmovable. Until we see many positive steps anyway. We need a backup plan, even if we have to trade our pickup or someone, if Fil plays next year

Yea but that’s the thing with concussions, you have no idea if they’re done. Chytil could be totally fine next year and never get another concussion again. At one point Mika was concussion prone early in his career

I think chytil skating is more positive than him sitting in a dark room not getting any updates on him. They should let him do his thing back home, then check in again around playoffs. It should be a no brainer that he done for the regular season
