Basically a $97,000 raise for Mitch Marner,I seriously doubt he's getting anything less than $12,000,000 per long term and probably a lot more.

Do you really think that Marner takes less then Willie. Willie 557 games 481 points Marner 543 games 593 points. Willie only has 2 season with more points than Marners best 3 seasons in assists. 38 games and Willie is all of a sudden worth more than Marner, how.

What do you think he gets? 7 is definitely low. Anywhere around 9 would be Makar, Josi, Hedman, Fox territory, which I dont think he is in that upper echelon.

Does he deserve less than Willy? NO. but I think if anyone of those guys took less, it would be Mitch. If he declines this season and next, why should he get more money

What makes you think he is going to decline? He is on pace for 89points not having his best season. That is still better than any season Willie has had till this year, if Willie keeps putting up the numbers.

Well 89 points would be a decline from the last 2 years. Willy scored 40 last year and might get 50 this year. Goal scorers are just worth more. You cant tell me Mitch has looked amazing this year.

That's not exactly how it works, though. Those guys will have signed their contracts a long time ago by the time Slavin needs a new one.

I woudln't be surprised if Slavin got 9.5-10. He's a legit #1 defenceman. Not as good as Makar and Fox, but those guys would also get paid way more than 10 million if they were free agents in 2025.
