Saros is optimistic sure, but like it said, it is a deadline move. Nashville will be getting a 15-20 goal scorer and a high goalie prospect. Not sure if they would resign Saros in the offseason anyways

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Michaeli13</b></div><div>So many things wrong with this...
1) That trade for Andersson sucks for the Flames
2) Jarnkrok for a 6th??? terrible for the leafs
3) Liljegren for a 2nd is absurd, maybe a 5th
4) Nashville never trades Evangelista even if Marner is involved; maybe Tomasino but they would need to add more to the deal
5) David Kampf gets you at least a 6th in return
6) Goalie situation not addressed
7) Noesen is not a 4th liner
8) Cowan and Minten are not ready for full-time NHL action, they may experiment but the fact that there is no replacement player for them in case they fail or get hurt is worrisome
9) Wayyyy too much money on Robertson and slightly too much money on Liljegren
Side note: Mcdonagh is really not good and way too overpaid</div></div>
1. Flames got about the same for Hanifin
2. Yes, salary dump
3. A bit optimistic, could easily be changed to 4th or 5th
4. Also optimistic. I dont think Evangelista is going to be a 100 point player though. Preds need scoring
5. I dont think the Hawks would give anything up to bring back Kampf.
6. Woll is the guy when he is healthy. Goalie market is so thin and I definitely dont want Samsonov back
7. Hes literally on the 4th line in Carolina
8. They almost made the team last year. They have to play eventually
9. Robertson will be a 20 goal scorer someday on a different team. 2.5 is not crazy at all.

24-25 trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jaok3</b></div><div>Leafs aren't trading for a goalie but that is way short for Saros. Leafs have Woll who will be at least 1A next season with a UFA 1 year signing goalie. Hildeby is a year away so they will have 2 goalies under contract control for a team with cap issues. Do you follow the leafs or are you making a team for something to do?</div></div>
I follow the Leafs and the Preds. Preds have a solid backup in Lankinnen that could be a starter. Preds need scoring and are still relatively in a rebuild. Adding a potential 20 goal scorer and a potential top 4 defensemen that are both under 25 is not bad for the Preds.
Also, would you feel 100% comfortable relying on Woll playing 50+ games next year as the starter?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Why is the current edition of Pesce worth 7m? I didn't even mention the crazy part of M NTC Kampf to Columbus and then signing the superior player Joshau to almost the same cap.
Anyway you are the cap by 338,000 and that's with a 87.7m cap. You don't know what's wrong with a 20 man roster??</div></div>
I dont necessarily think Pesce is worth 7 million, but for him to leave the Canes, he is going to need a bit more. Leafs need D men badly and I would gladly overpay for a 29 year old top 4 defenseman.
Yes, 20 man roster wouldnt work in real life, but this is a hypothetical. Leafs can work their cap magic to figure it out like they always do. more of a skeleton

Hes injury prone and small, not something the Jackets need, i doubt he would even get in the lineup when we were healthy. Now for Kampf, who you did send to us, is not good and overpaid. We have no use for him and he wouldnt even crack our lineup. The Jackets are not in a position to trade picks for players we dont need and will likely not play.</div></div>
Do you think the 5th round pick would turn out to be better than Kampf? Columbus's last 12 5th round picks have a whopping 0 points combined in the NHL

Well cap is technically 87.7 next year, so I am not over the cap. What is wrong with a hypothetical 20 man roster?? you could obviously sign people for a little less but I do think Pesce is probably getting close to that on the open market

Why though? Jackets are a bad team that need scoring. Robertson is a potential 20 goal scorer? It is a 3rd round pick

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bc44</b></div><div>Hayes isnt really a 2nd line center anymore and is aging. Leafs can find something SIMILAR most years on the UFA market without giving up assets. Robertson is cost controlled and has been productive in stints. He has a chance at out pacing Hayes in the points department as soon as next year. This trade is simply bad asset management from the leafs end.
Liljegren AAV at 2mill is bang on. Hes done nothing to prove he is any more then a 5,6,7 defenseman yo this point. There is a high possibility he isnt in the top 6 to start the playoffs. All other contracts are close aswell. Robertson might be overpayed. Id say hes closer to League minimum then 1.5mill</div></div>
There is almost no UFA's this summer which is tough. I think trading Liljegren could be a good option because teams probably think he is better than he is. Hayes wouldnt be a bad depth piece. could see him being 3rd line C

Not sure why everyone freaks out over a 3rd & a 5th rounder.....they rarely pan out. Over the last 10 years, all of the Leafs 3rd rounders COMBINED have played 41 NHL games and 28 of those were Joseph Woll. 225 for 5th rounders, and 174 of those games were by Dakota Joshua, who doesnt even play for the Leafs anymore.

Well 89 points would be a decline from the last 2 years. Willy scored 40 last year and might get 50 this year. Goal scorers are just worth more. You cant tell me Mitch has looked amazing this year.

Leafs are waiting because he had such a hot start. If he kept his pace he would be around 11 million. Once he slows down to the 80-90 point pace Leafs will gladly pay him 10.
I dont know about you but I do not want to see him walk. Been the best playoff forward for the leafs the last 2-3 years.

I dont think the Leafs decline to pay him more than 10.... Cap is going up 4 million and Tavares's 11 mil comes off the books the following year and probably drops down to 7-8 mil.
