Fantastic signing for the Oilers. Exactly the kind of value move the Oilers will need to do going forward with McDavid.

I like this signing figured he might still have something left in the tank... I remember when he was a bit more in demand then his stock slipped a bit. Looks like Vets are like stuck getting 1M a year from these second chances or whatever smile. I always mix this guy up with some other guy Olli Jokinen or something like that I think his name was wink.

Great signing by Edmonton. Other Pacific teams may regret passing on him (cough cough Anaheim cough cough Los Angeles)

I wont quack for the Ducks, though Kings signed Cammy already for LW/C, even Folin to play RD, they still have like 8 players who are RFAs to get under contract... Kings are likely to lose a goalie on waivers like Bereube to Islandes depending who the backup is Darcy, Campbell, Zatkoff... Probably will lose a player like they did HIckey to them as well... They got a few who need to clear waivers like MacDermid, Auger, Mersch, Crescenzi, Mersch will probably make the team, then maybe Auger, unless Gravel get sent down will likely be MacDermid, Crescenzi maybe could clear them. I expect Nolan will be sent down since he is awful maybe some others wont make cut like Andreoff. Besides I think Jussi wanted to go there from his connection to that Finnish player who like played for a team he is part owner of or so. Kings seem to think Shore, Dowd, guys like that can fill in at center, while Brodzinski is expected to make it as a RW, Kempe is another guy at LW/C who might bump another guy on waivers. HE probably wanted to play for a Playoff team so that excluded LA for sure wink.

If Jokinen can bounce back from his not-so-good season than this signing will turn out great for Edmonton. The risk is low and the value's pretty good.
