They should. They literally have no depth at center. Schneider is too young to count on and is having a terrible season, give me Tanev all day every day. I’ll sign him for 3-4 years

Idc about the first rder either. Give me the proven NHL guy. The odds that pick is as good as Novak is probably 5%. Jones should be a in a peewee league

Rangers aren’t gonna move a young RHD who will be fairly cheap for a few years. Also don’t think they’re gonna move a 1st for Novak

Schneider maybe. There is no reason to hold on to this first rd pick, none

Schneider will probably get 3 million a year in the summer, that’s what Lindgren got. He sucks right now anyway

Tanev is 34 years old lol I’d quit being a fan of this team if they gave him a 4 year deal

Blaming only Schneider is a wild take. Every single defenseman this year has regressed horribly defensively. There’s no difference between Lindgren, Trouba, Miller and Schneider in their own end this year

It’s clearly a structure problem because they are bleeding odd man rushes left and right. No one cares to play defense first, then score goals. So adding 3 players won’t fix the root of the problem

I'm going to defend Trouba and say that he's been leagues above the rest of them. Lindgren is having a terrible year. Miller great offensively but hasn't been solid defensively since pre-spitting suspension. Regression from Schneider but he's young, still developing, nothing to trade him over. Gustafsson had a strong start but has fallen off since Fox got back and reclaimed his responsibilities. Even Fox didn't look like himself really until tonight, but I give a pass because it's obvious that he's not 100%

He’s the 3rd pair lol and he has the most value in a trade BECAUSE he’s young. He played 11 minutes tonight. 11. If we have defenseman playing 11 minutes the rest of them will be dead ass tired by the time the playoffs roll around

Two terrible trades for the Rangers.

Use your head. You get Novak , a center who we don’t have a lot of, for a pick who is no where guaranteed to be as good as him. He’s 26. NHL player. How is that bad?

Schneider trades no one likes I get it.

Yea but even if you’re saying Trouba has been better than them, it isn’t saying much because of how bad everyone has been defensively

I don’t know what’s wrong with them, but there’s something off. No one is ever in position or even cares about defense. This is now an offense only league where teams are scoring 5+ goals frequently

Blame the coach then lol. Lavi is overplaying top guys right now to make up for the weak depth. Fox played 5 minutes more than the next defenseman!!!

Coaches should be helping develop the players and install a good system so that it helps when your top players get hurt. Yea I get it, Schneider isn’t their best defenseman but they need to use him so he learns and also to avoid running Fox into the ground

I don’t think Rangers are not willing to part with their 1st, but idt it’d be smart to use in on Novak. It’d probably cost a 1st rn for Vatrano due to the year he’s having and another year of team control, but that’s probably the right move for you guys

They need a center desperately. Cuylle moved to RW last night and looked really good imo. Kakko coming back helps there too

Drury will trade for a center there is no doubt in my mind

The trades are not bad for WHO you are trading for, they are bad for how much you are paying for each.

Or they were down yet again and he wanted the best offensive players on the ice. Seems to be a common theme (hence why othmann only got 7 minutes in back to back games)

So in essence you’re GUARANTEEING ME that a first rd pick in about 3-4 years will be better than Novak? Who btw would fit seamlessly into the top 9, at a price of 800k, and actually give us a 3C for a few years at a decent rate afterwards. Again use your head. Did yo used the lineup last night with one frickin center in it? We have no depth at center

Lemme borrow that crystal ball for the lotto numbers

First off, injuries and illness happen, so use your head for a change. Mika has the flu, he will be back shortly. Chytil is still healing up and may be back this season, unless you have a crystal ball, and we have Trocheck, Goodrow and Bonino, so it's not like there is a hole at the center position. At the start of this season it was a strength, so THINK. You want to give up a late 1st round draft pick for a bottom 6 center with no term on his contract who is a UFA, who, if Chytil returns will be playing on the 4th line. Nah, I would rather keep a late 1st round pick because sometimes they turn into players like Gabe Perreault (26th), Will Cuylee (2nd round 60th), and K'Andre Miller (22nd). That's is called thinking...try it sometime.

There is a hole with goodrow and bonino and it’s gaping 😂they have 3 gosls combined. I’ve tried to fix stupid my whole life, not sure I can this time

The fact you think we’re ok at center is mind boggling. Chytil is not guaranteed to come back and even if he does who’s to say he won’t get hit and hurt again. He barely got hit for this injury. His head is like paper mache

The fact you can't seem to read is mind boggling. One of my original relies you said, its NOT WHO you are trading for, it's HOW MUCH you are paying. Do you understand English? I have no problem trading for Novak, but I would not give up a 1st round pick for him. READ.

Check the odds on the pick making the NHL, and then let me know what you think Nostradamus
