Montour is a stud but rentals of that price shouldn’t be the devils target this year

On ice shooting percentage in 22-23: 10.2
On ice shooting percentage so far this seaons: 7.6

May not seem like a lot but it can be. His linemates are just not scoring nearly as much as they did last year. He's still more or less on the same pace as 22-23 with personal goals. Panthers as a whole have had trouble scoring beyond that top line (and Tkachuk over the last two weeks or so), not that it's really hurt them too bad.

I think I'd do this without too much hemming and hawing. Though I'd at least want a guess as Montour's UFA price.
