Could see EDM do this if Carrier comes with a reasonable extension in place and Nashville takes Brown as well, pick also needs to be protected.

I think adding Brown is pushing it, plus I’m not sure if a bonus moves with the contract, I thought Oilers were stuck paying that regardless?

I couldn't find anything that states what I gathered below as a fact but this was my interpretation on what I found on performance bonus contracts and the carry over bonus as a result of going over the cap hit.
The team accepting the trade, in this case Nashville, will get the cap hit as is with any trade; because Nashville has excess cap space it will then go against this seasons cap rather than carrying over.
I would also assume an under the table deal would be had so EDM pays the actual dollar amount, meaning Nashville pays nothing and it doesn't effect their cap next season.

If that was the case I think Brown would need to be added to this deal as it wouldn't effect Nashville at all (unless they are in playoff's which I then doubt they make this trade).
If that isn't how it works then idk haha

No way Edmonton touches this. The different between carrier and Ceci is minimal. And Carrier is a rental. Also Ceci plays 20+ mins a night of too 4 reliable defence, he’s not negative value. He doesn’t have much value but it’s not negative.
