Description
Erod would be better on the fourth line and Cousins is fourth-liner... Empty spot on the first would nicely fit to Samo... Barky passing, Samo shooting and Reino tipping...
Currently the biggest hole in the line-up is RW on the LuLu line, somebody to get them going more... Options in the organization would be Gadjovich/Sourdif/Lorentz/Lomberg/Lockwood...
Or trading:
This third line needs experience, shooting and good value UFA from non-playoff team.. Of course, those options are valid only if WSH and DET dont make the postseason... CBJ and OTT are probably given to have looong summer though... So best fit imo would be Max Pacioretty - great shooter, experienced but hopefully not washed out, UFA and most importantly never won a Cup - so last ride for him???
Another option Perron, but he would need to agree (M-NTC) and already won...
Younger options are Sprong and Kubalik, both awesome shooters... Sprong is heavily under-used wherever he goes, i'd be pissed if I were him... And Kubalik could rejuvenate in FLO like many others have for him...
Roslovic, not so sure, he doesnt score a lot and is injured a lot...
All in all - the best option is Kubalik, Pacioretty close second - depends on whereas WSH would be in the playoff mix and if Max continues to regain form...

Nothing against Mikkola, but OEL is just better, so they should switch...
Kulikov is also not bad, but he is not natural RD... Right-shooting third pairing D is nowhere to be found because of that... Surprisingly, there is a whole bunch of RD UFA's who could fill that role...
Not UFA, but the best option by heart would be comeback of Gudas... There would need to be some cap shenanigans, whole lot of retaining but in the end Gudas would still have his money and also place in his favorite team...

Just imagine going 11-7 with 77 (Mikkola), 7 (Kulikov) and 70 (Gudas) on the back end while Reino double shifts with LuLu line and Barky...

Bottom line: we all Cats fans know Maurice still wont change a thing... :-( :-( :-(

Pacioretty is probably the best pick up for them. Might be perfect for that lundell and Loustarinen line. Also I think acquiring a third pair they’ve more of an offensive puck moved to pair with mikkola

Do you really think Sprong would get more TOI in Florida?

Ye, he was fourth liner in Seattle and now in Detroit despite his production... At least third line here - that would be improvement in TOI, albeit small... He could thrive

Since Detroit is using their 3rd line as a true checking line. So he is on the line that is used more offensively. Florida has 1 player in their bottom 6 that gets more ice time. Plus Detroit utilizes their bottom 6 more than Florida. So he'd probably see less TOI in Florida. Sprong is thriving he's on pace for 20 goals and about 55 points. Which is pretty good for a bottom 6 player and he has good chemistry with Veleno.

I wanted to add whether the Wings are in the playoffs or not Sprong could be traded. He will more than likely garner the most interest.
