Wtf am I looking at.

Why would Van dump Lindy to Columbus instead of using him as your 2C for a playoff run?

Calgary is not accepting this deal.
How about removing Kuzmenko and trade Hoglander along with those draft picks in exchange for Lindholm and Tanev (Calgary retained 50% of both Lindholm and Tanev's contracts).

Calgary wouldn't accept that either. Hoglander is nothing special, just another small left shot winger which Calgary already has a lot of, most of which are either already better or are younger cost controlled for longer and have more potential. In spite of Vancouver fanboy claims to the contrary he's never done anything to show he's more than a meh bottom 6 player who can't even stay in the lineup.

As posted it'd be an overpay for Tanev alone and an underpay for Lindholm alone.

No interest in Kuzmenko and especially not for both Tanev and Lindholm, you need to give up someone who isn't a regular healthy scratch for the Flames to consider your offer.

kuzmenko is just a cap dump. last deadline washington traded away orlov (with max retention) and hathaway for smith, a 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd. that is the comparable im using for this trade.

kuzmenko, even though he has been healthy scratched 4 times this year, is a better and younger player than smith, so at least calgary is recouping some kind of player in addition to the picks. but yeah, the main gain here for the flames is the picks

This isn't a similar situation, Lindholm is a great 2C and Tanev can easily play top 4 minutes, so the picks for both of them are not enough, you'd have to include a prospect or two to get both of them, especially with a max retention on Lindholm so overall the picks aren't enough for both of them and that offer gets easily outbid by anyone on the open market.

orlov is a top pairing defenseman, hathaway a bottom 6 utility player.

lindholm a 2c on pace for like 50 points, tanev is 4th on the flames in defensive ice time per game

Orlov>Lindholm but Tanev>hathaway. i would say it is a good base as a comparison. the canucks are giving more here than what boston gave since kuzmenko>smith and the third round pick van is giving up is in this years draft, not 3 drafts form now
