Technically, Yakupov hasn't failed the Avs... yet. Also, I think DAL would want a D asset returned for arguably their best D prospect. DAL isn't exactly stacked on D, but with their Win-Now attitude they could ask for a veteran guy.

Are fans so spoiled they think a 23yr old D who can't crack a BACK to BACK Stanley Cup champion roster is a failure ... but they probably were happy Ruhwedel resigned at 27.

Yakopov is a silly pick up when you look at the winger prospects we have. Why get a turd like him? Pouliot is far more promising if for no other reason that he won't be in the KHL next year.

Makes ZERO cents to trade for Honka ... with Schultz and Letang with 3 plus years ... giving up Kessel who's a steal with the cap retention. He's been a key player for both cup teams scoring nearly a ppg, keeping up with Crosby and Malkin and often times playing on the 3rd line to create depth offence.

Faksa is decent, but we don't need to give up Kessel for fill 3rd line Center. I'd want FAR more then Honka and Faksa for a legit PPG player with 2 cups, in the prime of his career. With Hornqvist UFA at seasons end WHY would you even think to trade Kessel when you're not having cap issues?

Are you a Dallas fan or something?
