I bet Edmonton has a better plan eh? Is there a more top heavy team? Without McDavid and Draisaitl the oilers are a lottery team. There isn't a team that survives without a core group of players. The Leafs are fine. JT has 1 year left after this and then gets a huge pay cut. They can manage their roster.

One long term injury to McDavid and the Oilers are toast.

Edmonton had the same approach as the Leafs and it hasn't gotten them a cup. I can 100% admit that. But the reality is, you are in no position to talk down on the Oilers, considering we've had more playoff success in the past 2 season than the Leafs in the past 10+ years. The Leafs aren't fine, you have no defense or goaltending and your top players are soft and useless come playoff time. Maybe post another picture of Taveres in his Leafs pajama's when he signs his discounted contract.

That is also the most idiotic narrative, which is fitting since you're a Leaf's fan. Take away any teams 2 best players, and they'll suck. Colorado without Nate or Makar, Tampa without Kuch or Vasi...Try again bud

That's not the point, Leafs have almost 50% of their entire cap space allocated for 4 forwards!!! Sure everyone has the same approach, but good teams (ie stanley cup winning teams spread that out and just don't have it for forwards).

Correlation does not equal causation. You are connecting dots that are not related. Those teams won when it all came together for them. The leafs right now aren't good enough but that's mainly because Shanahan and Treliving are idiots. Those other teams had many disappointing year as well. Colorado couldn't get passed the 2nd round for ages until they did and won. Always had good teams but just didn't get the breaks. Same with Vegas, and Washington. St Louis was one of the best teams in the West for years until they won. But TO is always looked at differently. And chumps continue to make up reasons to support their hatred for them and ignore everything that makes their nonsense nonsense
