What's so special about Dumba to acquire him, never mind even thinking about giving him an extension?
Kinda crazy to trade away Jones for nothing. He would be needed if one of Woll or Samsonov were injured.

Well, how 'special' dumba is can be debated, but apparently Treliving wanted him in the offseason but ended ended up going with Klingberg to ensure he didnt miss out on getting any defenseman (Friedge reported this).

Dumba seems like the kind of defenseman Tre wants in any case. I think if the leafs can get anything for Jones they should take it - another team will likely pay him more this offseason than the leafs can afford and as I said, I don't think this is the leaf's "Go for it" year
