Man, if I were going to put any sort of crazy package together for a D with lots of term, it would be for Weegar not Parayko. Plus sounds like STL still needs him.

Leafs keep the better Dman in Brodie, and have free cap for two seasons instead of Schenn.
Leafs certainly aren't trading Knies, Timmins, Niemela and a first for the somewhat expensive Parayko who is on wrong side of 30 for 6.5m years.

First off, he’s just turned 30, so I don’t know how he’s “the wrong side of 30”, second, he’s worth probably that trade package, but he’s invaluable to the blues at this time and place. Can’t see the blues parting with Colt 55. Would be exciting to see Snuggy and knies on the same line again in the future.

Well he turned 30, 8.5 months ago. He'll be almost 37 when his contract ends. I understand why the Blues wouldn't trade him. Leafs would likely be better with him this season with the trade. But going into next year gotta think the Leafs are much better have Knies and Timmins making 2m cinbubned and 5m in cap (plus NIemela and the pick) than on 6.5m Parayko.
