Coyotes long term future pieces

Description
Coyotes long term pieces. A lot of young elite talent here. Bill Armstrong has done an incredible job rebuilding the on ice product and prospect pool of this organization.

Biggest need: an elite D. Would love for the Coyotes to draft a high end future first pair D. A lot of those guys in this year's draft class.

Biggest strength: Our draft capital. The Coyotes have so many draft picks in their back pocket. Coyotes traded up to #11 in 2022 to draft Geekie while giving up picks #27, #34, and #45. Would love for the Coyotes to use all their extra draft capital to make another move higher into the 1st round and come away with two first round draft picks. Coyotes under Armstrong's tenure have drafted 6 times in the first round in 3 drafts. 2021 #9 picking Guenther. 2022 #3 picking Cooley, #11 picking Geekie, #29 picking Lamoureux. 2023 #6 picking Simashev, #12 picking But

They need another Cooley level player instead of Hayton and they need a top a high end RD to push Durzi down

Future looks bright for the Coyotes , well stocked cupboard of players and picks. When the time is right in a couple of years Armstrong can start flipping picks for players at the TDL. The one thing they lack is a couple of veteran players who know how to win and lead by example.

Agreed. Hoping the Coyotes can draft a true top pair D this year. Another high end centre I believe is needed as well. Armstrong has done a hell of a job at putting these pieces in place as a foundation.

100% . Use some of those seconds to move up imo in the draft. Coyotes have enough B prospects anyways

On ice future sure looks great for the Coyotes. Off ice issues are a different topic lol.

All the draft capital that Armstrong has added can be used to move up in the draft and get the players they want. You are right as well, when the time is right, we have an abundance of picks to add players to grow into this core. The time for that will come. Trades such as Durzi for a 2nd round picks. Would also think Armstrong will find those types of veteran players to lead this group of young players, just like how he did this year with Bjugstad, Zucker, Kerfoot, Stecher, Dumba.

Exactly. We did it to draft Gekkie #11 in 2022. Moved picks 27, 34, and 45. Need to do it again. Have a string feeling they will. If Armstrong can walk out of his first 4 drafts with 8 first round picks.. my god.

He's great. I forgot about him. I'll add him right now. Also, I don't see Soderstrom being a fit here. Could see him being moved in any trade to raise the value.
