Deadline ideas

Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2024

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team starts the rebuild. Really any trade with Buch starts a rebuild. The Faulk and Leddy trades are unlikely but for either fan base would you be interested in them. If so what would you propose?

Trades
1.
STL
  1. Deangelo, Anthony
  2. Drury, Jack
  3. Lemieux, Brendan
  4. Morrow, Scott [Reserve List]
  5. 2024 1st round pick (CAR)
  6. 2024 2nd round pick (PHI)

Both of us agreed this is a pretty fair deal for both teams so lets role with it.
CAR
  1. Buchnevich, Pavel ($2,900,000 retained)
2.
STL
  1. Rempe, Matt
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Chytil replacement for cheap. Maybe the Blues get more, if it's less than this there's no point in trading him. I think it would be beneficial to move him at the TDL where players are always overvalued as opposed to the offseason. I would like to see Dvorsky take over as the 2C or 3C next year and right now Hayes is blocking him.
NYR
  1. Hayes, Kevin ($1,785,714 retained)
3.
STL
  1. Robertson, Nicholas
Additional Details:
Another team retains 50% on Scandella for a 5th.

My goal at the deadline would be to move these 2 pending UFAs for a younger player with upside. Other names include Kalyiev, glass, wahlstrom, etc...
TOR
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi ($1,600,000 retained)
  2. Scandella, Marco
  3. 2024 5th round pick (STL)
4.
STL
  1. Myers, Philippe
  2. 2024 5th round pick (TBL)
  3. 2024 7th round pick (TBL)
  4. 2025 3rd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Any team that has cap and wants cheap depth for the playoffs. Tampa will probably use LTIR at some point to open cap lol.
5.
STL
  1. 2025 3rd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
When the flames move out Hanifin and Tanev they'll need some veteran defenders to play top 4 minutes and Leddy can do just that. This opens up a spot for Perunovich in the top 4.

I think one of Leddy, Krug, or Faulk gets moved at this deadline. I don't think 2 of the 3 get moved though so this and the Faulk trade are the least realistic of the trades.
6.
STL
  1. Chiarot, Ben
  2. Tuomisto, Antti
  3. Viro, Eemil
  4. 2025 1st round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Again this is part 2 of likely unrealistic trades but still. Detroit desperately needs a right handed dman and they could get their top 4 guy here. Sure he's a little overpaid but they'd be paying just an extra 2 million than Chiarot and he's horrible.

The Blues pick up a 1st and a defender with promise in Tuomisto. Viro is another throw in as he doesn't have a chance to make it for Detroit but the Blues could use the defensive depth.

Before the season for Buch, maybe, but with the down year he's having, that's WAY too much, even with the retention. Drop Drury or Morrow, and probably lower the 2nd to a 3rd.

He's not really having a down year. Just under a point per game due to him having an injury early on that slowed him down. He has an extra year on his deal too so he isn't just a rental and the canes can afford to sign him to an extension. Dropping Drury or Morrow would defeat the point of the trade. Those guys aren't untouchables to the canes and Buch provides a massive upgrade for the team.

Morrow is pretty close to an untouchable, and Buch is having a down year. His production's picked up, but he's still off the pace in his own zone last year. He's not exactly a major upgrade on Necas or Svechnikov, meaning this kind of premium doesn't make much sense

Canes pass. Too much for a guy we can’t extend and wouldn’t extend due to age

Don’t argue with Caniac. He’s happy with the Canes being mid when it comes to the playoffs.

Well teams like the Golden Knights were willing to give up assets to get players like Barbeshev to help them win now, and they did. Meanwhile you cry whenever something is proposed to give the Canes players that would help them win now for future assets. So ya - mid.

Also wasn't your team walking infirmary by the end of the playoffs and could have used more depth....

Also - didn't you get swept in those Eastern Conf Finals...

Also - you misspelled Finalists....

Good day

Nope, Canes were only missing 2 players at the end of the playoffs. Canes lost every game by a single goal, it was as close as a series could get in a sweep. So nah, you're just flat out wrong, AGAIN. You cry whenever someone says Buch isn't worth the sun and stars LOL. Good day
