Realistic trade before season

Description
If any trades are to happen I think it will be vatanen for JVR. Toronto has been saying they are still in search of a puck moving offensive defenseman. They have 19 forwards on roster right now and speculation is with the Marleau signing JVR could be the one to get the ax. Ducks have already said they will be signing Manson long term next season so Sami IMO will be traded. I think this opens up room for Larsson or perhaps a low cost signing on D.
Ducks could also use another big body that can score (that is why I'm not including boll) ducks sign Shane doan late august early September for a 4th line one year role and a chance at a cup.

Obviously this signing will block the younger Fwds from coming up this season but we all know injuries happen. Kase (if doan realistically signs) starts the season in SD but him, wags and kerdiles are the first ones to be called up in that order.
Ducks were a complete team last season and I strongly believe and will stick to my guns that if not for all the injuries ducks would have made the cup finals. Adding 1 or 2 minor pieces such as JVR and Doan could be what the ducks need to get their 2nd Stanley cup

Thoughts? Opinions? Let's do it. It's always boring this time of year!!

A trade won't happen then. We're not trading 3 years of a cost-controlled RHD in Vatanen for 1 yr of JVR before he starts demanding 6-7M per, especially when we have a number of big re-signings to make next season. IMO, we'll keep Vats this season and move him next season at the draft for futures. BM is very high on a number of draftees next year and I wouldn't be surprised to see him move Vatanen for a mid-to-high 1st + prospect type return.

I don't see cogs coming back after this season I think they let him walk in order to get a more consistent scorer

Cogs will probably be re-signed because of his defensive abilities. He's not paid to score 20 goals a year. He's paid to shut down the other teams top players with Kesler.

I agree with Kyle. I agree I like the way he plays, but the youth is ready. The way I see it, unless Raks moves to center (which is possible), our top 3 LWs next season will be Raks, Ritchie, and Jones. No reason to keep Cogs and pay a vet when the kids are cheap and ready for a shot. Keep getting younger.
