Trading for a UFA defenceman makes zero sense for Arizona, especially as you are sending Ruzicka away from them. They picked him up for a reason and they should continue trying him out. On top of that, Zucker alone could get the Coyotes better than UFA Zadorov from a team desperate for scoring depth.

The deal is obviously very Canucks centered and favors them by far.

So the Canes give up Pesce for a couple of meh prospects and a winger they don’t need. Canes pass and quite easily too.
