I don't completely disagree. I think he commands too much and we can't afford him I don't think, not of we want to upgrade other areas of weakness.
I like that he is all effort all the time. We have a top 5 offense right now but are lacking in defense and physicality. We can't be the 30th most physical team come playoffs.
This would be selling high on him in my opinion.
We aren't going to go far in the playoffs with this team and defense.
No Detroit isn't at a stage where competing for a Cup is expected.
It's not Sprong's fault the D is subpar.
I hate the message it sends to the players.
They might crater the rest of the season if a good player like Sprong gets traded.
Red Wings need to get out of this "picks are gold" thinking.
Red Wings have had more picks than any team in the NHL other than Arizona maybe.
It's time to 💩 or get off the pot.
Either you want to compete or you don't.
I'm not saying throw away the future making foolish Chiarelli trades.
But don't you think this Red Wings team owes it to Larkin to try to compete?
He's eaten a lot of 💩 in his career being the face of some pretty bad Red Wings teams.
I want to see Detroit continuing to build in stages and improving like Stevie's Tampa teams did.
Playing in playoff rounds helps that.
You learn to lose before you learn to win and Cup teams aren't built overnight.
Trying to get more picks doesn't do it for me.
I hate being a Sharks fan right now.
But I have to accept it.
Sell, sell, sell...🤮
