Lindholm is no where near as good a player as Jake, and playing center doesn't really make up for that.
For reality check, Jake can play center too and well. He did so for PIT when they had injury issues. He played it better than Lindhom.
But that is besides the point.

Claud G. is the comparable. Not Lindholm. Lindholm has never put up 40 goals and over 80 points ever but that's a regular pace for Jake.
You are comparing apples to oranges.

As far as Jakes contract, it's too early to say any of that. Part of the slow up on that is the team picking a direction. If this team was a top 3 team in the division and secure in a playoff spot Jake would be resigned by now. But they are not, and they are going to at least listen to offers.
They got the cap space and they can make it work with Jake. They don't have any issues in resigning him. He's actually more likely to resign in PIT than anywhere else.

he's been a pro for going on 11 years now. He's done it 1 time. Maybe 2 if you give him the injury year. I hardly call that a guy who putting up production at that pace. In general he's not that guy.

Jake has been on the same level of production for 6 of the last 8 years.
