That might be true, but Philly isn't looking to dump his contract. They want a reasonable return. Honestly Torts likes Risto and has played significantly better the last 2 seasons.

he's a 5 million dollar bottom pairing defender getting incredibly sheltered minutes with three more years of term. playing well in sheltered minutes on the bottom pair does not mean he has any value when you have bomb of a contract like that. Philly would move that contract the second they could if it saved got them out of that deal.

I don't disagree, and I would move him in a heart beat. But the coach likes him and so does management. Even if a team takes his contract, apparently they would want a 3rd. So clearly he has some value to Philly and across the league. It will take a 1st+ for Philly to retain on his deal.
