Not at all. Ceci, Janmark and Kulak are all dumps essentially. Bourgault is a good prospect, but a defensive prospect with high pedigree is what we would want. Not additional forwards. The first will be late anyway. "Value" and fits/wants are entirely different things

It is going to cost more than a late first, an assortment of meh assets from the garbage bin and a 2nd two years from for a top pairing RHD.

What would the Blues want, given that Ceci and Kulak need to be included for cap reasons (not going to treat them as assets or dumps, just neutral) for Parayko?
I've seen a Dman prospect be thrown around, what would the deal look like to move him from your POV.

I will agree with some other posters this deal doesn’t exactly fit. It’s missing a centre piece going to blues. Honestly do like the idea of adding Colton but right now I don’t believe oilers have the correct assets to get it done. I won’t say it will never happen but given the term left on his deal I’d look to circle back in a few years things will change teams be in different spots might be more of a possibility.

This exactly.

As it currently stands, it isn't happening. Maybe a few years from now. Currently EDM (and frankly TOR either since they keep trying) doesn't have the pieces to make it happen. That could change down the road but right now? Not really a possibility

Learn to read bud. Where did I ever mention that they have the same value?

It's called a comparison. Learn about it

Well a good comparison would be Ekholm not draisaitl and the package you made up for draisaitl was identical to the package for parayko that’s pretty much insisting they have the same value

You're looking too deep into it. I was making a point. It's like arguing with a wall at this point

Yeah I’m not gonna argue with stupid maybe come up with better and more realistic comparisons next time and example of that would be Chychrun or Ekholm defensemen that have similar value

The Oilers can’t plausibly be a good match right now unless we’re tanking. I don’t think Akey has the pedigree of a top 4 guy. We have nobody even near pushing for playing time. The picks will be late 1sts especially with an addition of Parayko.

All you can really offer is long-shot chances. We have drafted in the first round 7 times in the last 5 years and have one good defensive prospect to show. Granted we only picked one. But we have a hole there. Unless we were somehow to acquire a Nemec/Jiricek/Willander or someone of that ilk which is extremely unlikely, I don’t see how we can replace a top 4 guy who’s being asked to play every shutdown situation for over a third of the game with a partner who is not suited for that role.

Ekholm is a pretty good comp if we’re selling. Chychrun is not. That was a very different situation driven by the player having requested a trade and it becoming a saga for 2 years prior to a deal being struck.

Think what you think I suppose. You're missing the point all together anyway
