Ottawa will have plenty of options to trade Tarasenko for a comparable return. If the Oilers can't afford Senk at 2.5mil at the deadline, there's another team that can. Ottawa doesn't need to make the money work, especially if there's term involved

Ottawa should not be taking expensive and useless players back in any Tarasenko deal.

I also like Kulak as a 3LD option though its not *just* to make the money work. His statistical/analytical profile I think embodies what we could use as a veteran 3LD option. Plays both sides, good enough puck mover, and has been sound defensively as well. 2750000 is not cheap per se but we have ample space to make it work

Expensive as in we don't need a $2.75 million 3LD. Useless as in we don't have any use for Kulak so he's immediately expendable.

2.75 is high relative to a league min sure but its nothing we can't manage & we definitely could use a 3LD in his mould of player
