Sykora was a recent 2nd round pick who is progressing well as the youngest player in the AHL. I doubt the Rangers would move him unless it was part of a larger deal for a long-term improvement with more upside than Brannstrom. The Rangers already have enough RFA re-signings to work out anyway.

Rangers say no.

Apparently, the Owner of the Rangers has instructed their GM to keep their 2024 1st at all costs.

Because he wants the big spectacle of picking somebody in the 1st round at the Sphere in Vegas, which is also owned by him.
