Tyler Johnson is definitely getting moved and the Hawks will probably retain half to get the best return. It's really just a matter of who wants him for a playoff run.

I don't think they want to retain any salary in a Murphy trade, but I do believe Davidson would move him if the right deal came along.

The hawks retaining salary makes sense considering anyone who would want him would also need the salary to be retained. As far as a fit, EDM is one option, but on the 32 thoughts podcast they said it’s more likely they go after a forward.

I'm not saying they wouldn't retain a little, but I can't see them having the full $2.2M in dead cap over each of the next 2 years just to move Murphy.

The hawks aren’t worried about salary at all for the next two years, but once Nazar, Bedard, and Korchinsky are RFA, depending on how good Nazar and Korchinsky are, year three would be a minor inconvenience. I think the positives they receive out of this trade are much greater than the negatives 2.2 dead cap will have 3 years from now.
