As an Oilers fan i LOVE the RNH for Carlson idea, however stoner and sbisa are downgrades on Orpik and Chorney, so those moves probably dont happen, I'd look to Carolina for D

Sbisa, Stoner, and Polak are all pretty freakn bad. And where are you getting Schmidt from? No way you get Schmidt back for Orpik and Chorney.

I totally agree with both of you. Vegas has too many defensemen, though, and needs fewer... So I figured Orpik and Chorney for Schmidt seems fair, and then Vegas gets rid of stoner and Sbisa for a fourth before they disappear on waivers, but retains half of their salary for the two seconds, so Washington can fit under the salary cap.
